About Boris
Empathetic. Transparent. Relentless.
Boris Alexander is an Ontario employment lawyer who has acted for both employees and employers on the issues that come up most at work: terminations and severance, wrongful and constructive dismissal, human rights and accommodation, workplace harassment and investigations, employment contracts, leaves and disability, and unpaid wages.
On the employer side, he advises a wide range of organizations — charities and non-profits, Indigenous community organizations, private schools, healthcare and treatment providers, veterinary clinics, logistics companies, manufacturers, and businesses in film, hospitality and wellness — in Ontario and other Canadian jurisdictions, including federally regulated workplaces. His work covers the whole employment relationship, from hiring and contracts to terminations, harassment investigations and disability issues.
On the employee side, he has guided clients through dismissals, settlement negotiations, mediations and court proceedings. Knowing both sides means he understands how the other party thinks, and he uses that to find practical solutions. Clients describe him as responsive, transparent and empathetic: someone who listens first, explains clearly and makes sure they feel heard.
Boris has practised at top, well-known Toronto labour and employment firms, for both employees and employers. He has also served as in-house General Counsel to an international start-up, and articled at a top tax litigation firm.
